The “salaryman” culture continues to define much of corporate Japan. While younger generations are moving away from traditional paths, entrepreneurial ecosystems remain underdeveloped. Creating documents is common and useful, but execution is often limited.
At the same time, global capital—particularly from the U.S., Europe, and Asia—is flowing into Japan’s public markets due to increased transparency and regulatory reform. While private-market business relationships can be increasingly complex, investing in Japan’s public markets has become more accessible than ever.
